My Reviews
Middlesex: A Novel (Oprah's Book Club) by Jeffrey Eugenides
Book Club Recommended
Interesting, Dramatic, Epic
Surprising on many levels! The book was beautifully written! For me, it was a story about immigration and ancestry as much as how we deal with knowing how a person deals with being different based on genetic anomalies. I read the book when first released and again recently in our book club. I got so much more out of it with rereading. Very well written!
A Man Called Ove: A Novel by Fredrik Backman
Fun, Insightful, Beautiful
This was my first Fredrik Backman book. I have gone on to read all of his work. I enjoy his quirky, flawed characters and the connections he makes between the generations and the cultural divide that is so often a source of conflict.
