At first I found the book a little difficult to get into. However, once I did, it became a very interesting story on a subject matter which I had no previous knowledge. I found it disturbing in that women are still being treated in the same way today in the Middle Eastern countries. Countries in which being born a girl is a carnal sin. A sin for which the mother can be blamed and punished for bearing a girl. Thank goodness I have never had to experience what these women go through day in and day out. It is a very good book for enlightenment. I would recommend this book.
