The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters

Slow, Boring, Gloomy
The Paying Guests

Began very slow; the beginning was good glimpse of post-war/changing Victorian norms; difficult to really like the main characters, which by the way, had nothing to do with their sexual persuasion but rather their shallow love affair, amoral behavior and contrived angst; trial storyline was interesting.
