My Reviews
This book was difficult at the beginning but then it became one that was hard to put down. it begins with Jacob remembering his life as he lives in a nursing home. I actually listened to it on a book-on-tape so it was really nice to hear the older and younger Jacob...helped to follow along in the story. Anyone that works in a Nursing Home should read this and get the "other side of the coin" on how our Residents really feel.
The book was cute but def. not one I would have taken on as a summer vacation read.
This was a nice book where you could just relax and read. There were a too many characters at time it was hard to remember who was who and why they were even brought into the storyline.
The concept was ok and I could get past the strange writing (to look at) but it was strange. I am def. glad I borrowed the book and didn't buy it. I didn't hate it but I didn't like it either - it was OK.
The whole book had me on the edge of my seat and then it just ends and left me hanging. I learned something too and that is always a plus in my book.
I enjoy reading but I don't want to have to stumble over words and titles. This had a lot of foreign words that made it difficult to read at first - but then I just glanced over some of the wording. It did not get interesting until over halfway through - then I could not put the book down.
Enjoyed the book. It did start out slow but by the end I couldn't wait to finish reading it. There were a couple twists.
I enjoyed this book. Because it was a translated book I was not always able to follow the references to places and people, but it was well worth the read.
Daniel is a young man who falls in love with a book and looks to find more works by the author. There are many twists and turns to the book. We have mystery, betrayal, love, lost love and murder.
Loved the book.
This is a thicker book than I would normally pick, especially for a book club slection but it was great. My kind of book. A mystery that spans over years. I'm so glad I picked it and I would recommend to anyone.
Though it is long it is well worth the read.
A very informative read about how a family copes when one of their own gets Huntington's Disease.
I loved this book - it's been a while since I just couldn't put a book down. I was actually listening to this in my car so I came up with excuses to drive.
You go back and forth between times but it's easy to follow along.
You think you know how the story will end but I hope you will be pleasantly surprised as I was.
Morgan is released from jail to clean and fix a mural done by Anna Dale. So you jump back and forth between Anna and Morgan's life.
I def. recommend reading this.
This book was very well written. It made you want to keep reading to see if Lydia and Luca make it to el norte.
The things they have endure, see or even hear of are horrific. It makes me feel lucky that I live in America. It shows how ruthless cartels are and what people will do to get away from them.
It is a very heavy book so I would not suggest it as a summer read but it is a def. a must read.
I really enjoyed this book. I did feel there were parts that were slow moving but overall I’m glad I read it. If it had happened to me I think I would have fought against the stepmom and not just let her take everything
