My Reviews
Everyone loved this book! We had a lively discussion of Russia under Stalin, and came away with a deep appreciation of life in America. Although the book begins rather bleakly, it soon becomes hard to put down. There are a few twists that none of us saw coming! Several of our members plan to read the remaining two books in the trilogy.
My group really liked this one. We loved the beautiful descriptive language. There were lots of themes to discuss, from race relations to domestic violence to growing up Southern. The book builds to a dramatic climax that makes it impossible to put down!
you'll love this book!
This book was full of difficult, complex characters who were not easy to like. There was, however, a lot for our club to discuss!
