Learning about Garfield as a man and how he became president was fascinating. Book is an easy read and brings reader to see how medicine, politics, and government policy, were changed and influenced because of the events of his short presidency.
Though off to a somewhat slow start to introduce the characters,the author weaves interesting story of family relationships, expectations, friendships, and ties with one another. A bit of history, and settings in New York add to the story interest.
Lots of interesting aspects in this novel. Mystery,family secrets, twists and turns makes for a compelling read.
Short but interesting debut novel.This is a book that brings to light themes of family relationships, belonging, acceptance,and cultural biases.Past and present are woven together in fast moving story with romance and some mystery added in.
The ripple effect of a split second decision involved in a baby being kidnapped that alters many lives is explored in this novel. There are many themes that are brought out. Motherhood, forgiveness, ownership, family values. Many points of view of all the characters are presented in short chapters that keep the reader moving quickly ahead to see the outcome.
