Although it is quite a long book, it is well worth the read. I recommend the book to anyone. It's a deep book and develops the characters very well.
My group read this book and found it well written but did not grab us in or make us want to read any other books by this author. There wasn't anything that enticed me to keep reading. Pretty much, if I hadn't been reading this in a group, I wouldn't have finished it.
It was hard to get into at first because of the language, but it was a book that was, to be cliche, a page turner. The set up of letter writing instead of chapters was really an insightful and a creative way that added a great flow to the book. The characters were all really well developed and relatable and it drew you in almost immediately. Highly recommend it.
This is a book that delivers. It is a great book and an easy read. It has a great plot from start to finish and gives lots of things to think about. Reminded me somewhat of The Andy Griffith Show
It is refreshingly easy to read and captivates you immediately. It is very well written and really made me more interested in the history of the circus.
