My Reviews
We enjoyed comparing the people at the school in Australia to our school. We also liked the deeper topics to discuss,
This book was so much more than I expected. It told the story of two middle age novices hiking the AT, but also insights on the history of the trail, environmental issues, and friendship
I would not have read it if it hadn't been a book club selection. It was slow starting, it got better as it went on. The ending was strange.
While it wasn't the greatest book, it was interesting to see how the characters in To Kill A Mockingbird were 20 years later.
I had never heard of the literary and cultural tradition in Timbuktu. Amazing story as how the books were gathered and then smuggled out of Timbuktu to save them from the Islamic jihadists. I would have loved more maps and pictures of the books. Too much details about the fall of the Timbuktu literary age and war with the jihadists.
