Very well written -kept you guessing until the end.
A sweet, heart-warming story of a man with a rough exterior and a heart of gold. He is devastated by the loss of his wife, but does make a new life for himself with the help of good people he meets along the way.
Very sensitive, realistic novel of a family suffering through a personal tragedy with great love, compassion and strength, as well as much pain. I've read it twice and intend to read it again. It puts life into perspective.
I actually would only give this 2 1/2 stars. Most of our Book Club die not actually finish it. I did, but it was a chore. The story could have been written in a lot shorter version, it dragged on and on. Lots of sleeping around and vulgar language. Rather crude at times.
