This book was captivating, involved excellent research, told a difficult, but riveting story. Character development was very well done, one gets caught up in their lives. It fostered great discussion on issues at our book club.

This story centered on two young boys' coming of age in the early sixties, in a rural Midwest town that experiences mysterious deaths. It is a captivating narrative and very well written character study of a family and faith, strained by a life-changing summer.
