My Reviews
Good pacing, lots of dialogue, interesting literary references - keep reading until the end.
I skipped some of the dialogue in this - the good doctor was very wordy and preachy. I still got the gist of the book. Interesting...a little far-fetched. It transported me to the setting and experiences. The ending was a little disconcerting.
This book was set in the UK in places that I've been. I could understand the setting, the culture, and the vocabulary. I just wish the heroine (?) would catch a break! It was also rather confusing how the author wrote each chapter on a different generation. I kept getting the characters mixed up. A good read overall and it worked out in the end.
Joined my book club last fall. This was the best book so far - quite addictive and very inspiring. I've recommended it to colleagues and friends and they all agree. Read it!
This book switched between different characters' narratives and was a little confusing. There was a lot of philosophical and literary references that I glossed over. I concentrated on the dialogue and personal interactions. I finished the book but was not impressed.
A fast-paced read and so fun! These women! Keep reading and you will find out everything.
