My Reviews
Very well written
The author draws you in very quickly. A controversial subject, that is thought provoking. I immediately purchased After Me which is the sequel to Me Before You. I highly recommend this book.
Jodi Picoult is at her best. She never stints on research. In this absorbing story of a single Mom raising one child with Asperger's syndrome and another in the middle of his teens, Picoult vividly describes each of their thoughts and actions. You are drawn willingly into the drama of their lives.
A slow start that makes you wonder why you are reading it. After the ground work is laid the story takes off.
Love, loss, purpose in life, all subjects most of us experience sometime in our lives.
Ove responds with anger. This book brought disapproval then understanding; laughter then a few tears.
I highly recommend it.
This is a lengthy book that starts out very slow. It centers around England pre-World War 1. The Class discrimation and he plight of women. I thought it weas well written and after the slow start, became very interesting. My Book Club had a lively discussion as we hit the whole range of loving it to being bored with it. There was a very interesting reveal at the end, so if you read it, pay attention. Some of our group missed it.,
