My Reviews
A young boys perception of his life in Montana. Orphaned and being raised by his grandmother in rugged circumstances he is forced to grow quickly. Wonderful character descriptions and a delightful picture of the West in the 1950's. A calming picturesque read.
Our club rated it a 3.3. We are all new to this region of Florida and found it informative geographically and interesting. Poorly written, without accurate historical details, nor any character depth. Our club liked the geographic picture in the 1900's.
Our group gave it a 2.5 rating. We felt Will had written this book to deal with his grief. Everyone wanted to know more about his mother.
Our club gained knowledge of World War two and the domestic treatment of Japanese Americans. It was insightful and likely our members will go on to read more on the topic.
Beautifully written. The characters are very memorable, visual and convincing.
