My Reviews
The Light Between Oceans: A Novel by M.L. Stedman
Book Club Recommended
Dramatic, Interesting, Insightful
Raney by Clyde Edgerton
Book Club Recommended
Unconvincing, Confusing, Difficult
RaineyA short, easy read that makes good book club conversation especially if members are from the South and/or small towns. Unfortunately, the story is unbelievable and the time setting seems to be off by a couple of decades. And for this NC native, the humor falls a little flat -- but everyone's idea of Mayberry is not for everyone!
Rogue Lawyer by John Grisham
Addictive, Gloomy, Insightful
Much better Grisham novels to read for book club. This one was made up of different stories and it took a while to weave together. My major complaint, was I didn't like any of the characters -- they were too seedy and unlikable.
