My Reviews

The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls

Interesting, Inspiring, Dramatic
Amazing how two very, crazy, dysfunctional, and selfish parents could create such amzing and resilent children.

Women of the Silk: A Novel by Gail Tsukiyama

Beautiful, Insightful, Informative
Pei is suddenly taken to the Silk Factory by her father one day and left. No explanation...nothing. But life is not so bad at the Silk Factory. Pei experiences life in way she would never have if she

It was a wonderful story of life for all these young and old women. Having choices that they would never have experienced. It was hard work but it came with many benefits. It's a story about Pei and all the women she meets and becomes friends with at the Silk Factory. I highly recommend this book for any book club.

Interesting, Dramatic, Epic
An incredible journey of a family, where fate and genetics are intertwined, and how they affected the outcome of one person.

I loved this book! The writing style drew me in and the story kept me reading non-stop until the end. The conversations that it inspired were intelligent and interesting.I would recommend this book to anyone.

Dark, Interesting, Confusing
This book gives the reader an insight into who The Wicked Witch of the West was. From her strange birth to her school days. Was she really Wicked or just a victim of circumstances...

When I first read the book, I found the character names more complicated than needed. It also felt very muddled; filled with more information than needed or at other times, not enough. I found our discussion at book club helped clarify certain events and then I saw the book in a better light. I would recommend it for any book club discussion.
