My Reviews
Would never have chosen this book on my own but interesting read for this period of time. I had trouble reading about the animal cruelty so I had to skip over those parts in the book.
If you are looking for a feel good book and a quick read, then this is your book.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes historical books written about war time. It is obvious that the author spent a lot of time on research, so I'm sure it is very accurate. However, if you are looking for an easy read, don't choose this one. There are many, many characters to keep up with and the plot jumps around a lot. The author has included an entire cast of characters at the front of the book which helps.
It is a long book but worth the time it takes to read it. It grabs you from the opening pages and does not let go until the very end. This is one book I did not want to put down and I HATED for it to end. I plan to read the sequel soon.
When I found out that my book club had chosen this book for October, I was really reluctant to read it. I am not a vampire story person. However, I was hooked from the first page! It is certainly not your traditional vampire story. It is a refreshing love story between mortal Bella and vampire Edward. I hated for the book to end. As a result, I rushed out to buy the next in the sequel, "New Moon" which I'm reading now. I can't wait to read all four books in the series.
This is a very thought provoking book and it is excellent for book club discussion. Patchett is a wonderful writer.
I really enjoyed this book because it made me laugh and it was light reading....definitely nothing deep to absorb in this book. This is a quick read that will bring a smile to your face.
