I thought it paralleled currently what is happening in life. We as white people take it so for granted how easy and good we have it. We are always fearful for our children and loved ones that something may happen to them but I realize that I don’t worry about my grown kids in the way African American parents worry about theirs.
Just Tuesday night I had dinner with a couple girlfriends and her mother in law was trying to get accepted into assisted living facility and they have to meet the person to be evaluated if they will be in independent or Alzheimer’s areas etc. Well you have to wait for an opening and One became open and her father in law talked to the social worker and said his wife would not be happy with a black caretaker. The facility said “we withdraw your wife’s application at this time”.
