City of Girls

From the moment that I began to read, I found that if i put the book down, I couldn't wait to return. Told through the main character, Vivian, I was vividly drawn into her life and the lives of those who she knew and loved. Feathers, martinis, sex, friendship, love! A heartfelt ending and a reminder that the world isn't straight and that loving your life and not being afraid to be yourself are paramount.

A Girl Called Samson

Out book club recently read this and discussed it at our meeting this week. Unanimously, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it--many of us loved it! Not many books have been written about heroines who fought in the Revolutionary War, and although it is historical fiction, it is very well researched. Deborah Samson deserves recognition in our country's history and many of us believe a movie should be made so that her story reaches us all! Kudos to Amy Harmon! This is a story that I will remain with me for the rest of my life.
