My Reviews
I was sent the book as a gift for Christmas, 2006. It moved me to action and the benefit of having a Christmas Jar was just realized. Several members of our book club had Christmas Jars as well and we just spoke of the joy.
It was truly a pleasure to venture into the less spoiled world in which John Ames lived. I was moved by his peace of spirit.
I found the book fascinating. It takes a very thought provoking look at not only slavery but how some human beings change when circumstances allow even to the point of repeating the mistakes of their predecessors yet others embrace their new life while remembering the errors of the past.
