My Reviews
This was definitely an interesting and philosophical book. I'm always up for a good, thought-provoking read. I just felt it was a little repetitive and longer than necessary. I think Quinn could have added some elements to make it more appealing to readers. I'm not sorry I read it, I just probably wouldn't read it again.
Thanks Tori for a really fantastic night out. The pool was warm, the drinks were cold and the food was DELICIOUS! I really enjoyed catching up with everyone. Great job!
I wasn't overly excited to start this one ... there were mixed reviews so I was concerned I wouldn't care for it. But I'm glad I did. Although sometimes difficult to follow, the author's unique writing style incorporated with photographs and other illustrations gave an entirely different feel from other books. The 9-year-old main character is insightful beyond his years. There were so many 'one-liners' that caused me to pause and reflect that I had to rate this book on the higher end. And one interesting point ... a book club discussion question asked if readers felt this was more fable or reality? Before reading it, consider it fable and I think it will make a lot more sense.
