My Reviews
Reading it, makes you feel like you are reading a diary.
Please remember that this book is fiction.
A classic story that needed to be told. If you like historical fiction, this is a must read! The book gave me new insight to Korean's and their life journey. The book is well written!
A story of life, death, murder and our own prisons that we create and live within. The book gives us perspective on life and forgiveness.
I finished Whiteheads "Underground Railroad". I want to remind everyone that the book is fiction. He depicts the railroad as a true train station that is underground.....which is not true. The book is very graphic, the author is known for writing violent scenes...as his book "Zone One" is a gore splattering zombie book. I like historical fiction and this book does not have the back ground and research that I prefer. But it is a very quick read, so please read it, so we can get everyone's opinion.
Stoker is brilliant! The book is over 100 years old and you would think it was written yesterday. Vampire stories where popular when this book was written, and this story is the original. It is a must read, and you will compare all other vampire stories to this well written novel!
The book is based on a true story of an Indian boy kidnapped and sold/adopted into the USA. Amazing story.
A murder mystery. Nothing note worthy, but an easy read
Not a fast moving story, but a classic murder mystery/romance.
The book has British humor. OVe is a grumpy neighbor, but by the end of the book, you will fall in love with him!
I love historical fiction. The book is not always moving along quickly, but the characters, story and ending are fabulous!
The movie is better than the book.
Excellent, historical fiction....must read!
Not worth the paper it is printed on. And I even like Tina Fey. She is not a writer.
Fun, easy detective series.
Trying to be like a Harry Potter book, but just not good enough.
It's an easy read, but I really don't want to read about a bunch of spoiled rich kids fighting over their inheritance.
Well written adventure. Great for adults and teens!
Keep reading....there are points you want to stop, but the end is great and the writing is so insightful!
This book is easy to read. The author has an interesting reading style that places you in the moment. Well written and informative. The book is about women dealing with anorexia. Now that I think about it, this is a society problem, because men don’t generally become anorexic. It is a tangled web we weave.
I love historical fiction, so I give this book five stars. I especially liked the end of the book where the author explains which characters are real and which characters are fiction. A lot of research went into this story and I appreciate that. Kate Quinn is an excellent author and I look forward to reading more of her books!
I grew up in metro Detroit. The book has excellent historical insights. The underlying topic is amazing. If you don’t like to think outside the box, you may not like this book. Personally I loved it and I think the story needs to be told. God creates all beings as perfect, this story is about someone that is perfect in Gods eyes, but imperfect in human eyes.
The book is about a psychic and his stories of helping others to deal with the loss of love ones. I think we all need to open our minds to other dimensions. There is more to life then what we experience on earth. I loved the book.
Amazing story of life in remote Alaska. The characters are brutal and strong at the same time.
War novel about women spies for WWII. Good read!
Interesting story of arranged marriage, true love and 1900’s life on an island.
Spy novel set in Russia during the Cold War. The book is well written and the plot moves along well. What I liked best was the setting. It was like traveling to Russia without having to go there!
I liked the characters and the satire of the storyline. This is a classic. It’s not a fast, exciting book, but the characters and the struggles they go through make it interesting!
Margaret Truman writes an interesting fictional murder mystery about the CIA. The book really shows you how corrupt governments are.
The book is written as a journal by a fictional autistic child. It’s not a fast Moving novel, but it is eye opening all the same. You will have a new appreciation for people with special needs after reading this book.
Excellent story of a family in Afghanistan!
You will love the Marsh Girl. Well written and an easy read!
The main character is Dina. The book is her life story and the story of the people who touched her heart. The book is set in India in 1975. It is eye-opening to see the struggles of this country. I’m thankful to have read it, but it is not always a cheerful easy story. The author does a great job and it is excellently written. I thank him for not sugar coating this story. A must read to understand India and its culture.
This is a memoir by Tara Westover. The family exists and the stories of her upbringing in a survivalist home in southern Idaho are true ....(to the best of her memory and her journal entries). It’s a heartbreaking story where Tara has to give up her family over the fact that her parents won’t admit that her brother is abusive. The family is Mormon and the females have no say, and must conform to male rule. Tara is brave and crosses Mormon and family boundaries that control her life. Her story of suppression continues past the pages of this book. Her parents have hired an attorney to sue her, for her memoir and the fact that it reflects poorly on them.
I love Nora Roberts novels. This book is a easy read that you don’t want to put down.
I love the characters in this romantic novel the let you experience real love. There are a few parts in the book that are not convincing and cause problems in the plot. For example when the hospital puts ice on Henry’s feet. Also the scene of Henry’s death is odd because Niffenegger actually has cloned Henry and he is there twice as a time traveler. She makes this error at other times in the book. I’m not sure why the editors didn’t catch these errors that could have been easily fixed. The book is easy to read, well written and enjoyable,
A story that all need to hear.
I didn’t want to read another book set in the time of WWll, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book thief. Marcus Zusak tells a story of a young girl , Liesel Meminger, and her love for books and reading. I couldn’t help falling in love with the characters in this Novel. The story is narrated by the Grim Reaper (Death) which sounds strange... but Marcus Zusak pulls this off with amazing grace and style.
Quick read, about heaven and hell. I love CS Lewis!
