The prose was poetic at times; it read like a travelogue at other times & took some turns that you didn't see coming. Our Novel Bunch Book Club enjoyed reading a local author!

The book takes a while to get all the characters into place & then there are many surprises & turns that draw you into the narrative & the harrowing events of our heroine/protagonist. I thought the writing was excellent & the book was well-researched. Not everyone in our book Club enjoyed it as much as I did because of some dark topics
