My Reviews
Nicholas Sparks has done it again. There is a surprise twist that I love---it keeps the story line interesting. All of the characters could be real, and that is what I love about Sparks' writing. Every last detail with which the characters interact is so real. Good job Sparks.
I have never read a book of this nature. I am not a fan of murder and suspense---but I do love mystery. I really enjoyed this book because it is a true story. I am not an attorney or detective but with the evidence given how could a jury prosecute these men? That is the main question for me. I know that our judicial system is far from perfect---but it is better than some other countries. I am glad that justice was served for these two men---freedom. Although I thought that the State of Oklahoma could have done better--an apology, compensation of some sort, etc.
I was really taken with CeeCee. I really feel that her sixteen years was not enough experience for such an older guy. But her true self shone at the end of the book--which was very heroic and brave. It does pay to be honest even circumstances that you should have known better than get involved. I really enjoyed the book. Once I got started reading it I couldn't put it down. Kudos to Diane Chamberlain.
