My Reviews
A potentially heavy sounding drama with a surprising quick and funny lightness. I appreciated each perspective.
I picked this up while house sitting for a weekend and didn't initially think I would be interested. I found myself sucked in! It was a page turner with substance and surprises.
Relatable and a reminder to give grace to everyone around you, we all have our own unseen battles.
I was moved by this book. The author poignantly articulated grief and how it affects our patterns and choices. With each shift of perspective even though I didn't necessarily want to like a character, I felt their point of view. It made me think of all the people who have mothered me and how much can be lost in translation because of our different love languages.
A small town girl finding her wings in a big city...the catch was in the restaurant industry. It was refreshing and interesting.
This was quick paced and you can get easily get sucked into it. However, I found the main character unlikable and anticipating her downfall stressful.
Insightful regarding the struggle of so many immigrants in America. This book beautifully articulates the quirky culture differences and the real heartbreaking struggles. It is a reminder of all the privileges we take for granted in this country.
