I loved this book! it was inspiring to know and understand the difficulties faced by this woman, who overcame all boundaries to become an inspiration for generations to come!
Not my type of book!
Not a huge fan of Steve Martins type of comedy so this may have influenced my lack of excitement over the book. I did not find the writing stimulating, but he did grow up in the same area I did, so I did find some of it interesting in a reminiscing sort of way.
I had a very hard time staying with the book. I got through it but it was difficult for me. The descriptions were good and it was well written but I found the subject matter and characters boring. Probably just not my cup of tea! Hope you have a good book club and others enjoyed it. Look forward to seeing other reviews.
