Amazing book! Was given 4.8 by members of our book club. So sensitive and inspiring. Such trials and tribulations that the family had to endure in order to survive. Hard to ever imagine having to go through the extreme hardships that they did. Really liked the history paragraphs between the chapters, the family tree, the beautiful pictures.

A Piece of the World: A Novel by Christina Baker Kline

Insightful, Interesting, Beautiful

Our book club liked the book and gave it 4 1/2 stars. Fairly slow and did not like going back and forth in history. Wondered why Christina could not go forward and give Al a chance at happiness. No wheelchair? Could have given her greater mobility rather than crawling on arms. Loved how Andy was woven into story. Think they became great friends because of their disabilities and sharing loneliness
