My Reviews

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

Dramatic, Interesting, Dark
A reluctant biographer finds her life changed while discovering the secrets of a well loved novelist.

Wonderful story with many plots twists and turns. My biggest disappointment was this was Ms Setterfield's first novel--I wanted to read more of her work. I still think of the story and wonder about the unanswered questions I was left with. I hope Ms Setterfield is able to write other stories with the same level of excellence.

Tale of a man, who helped to develop Texas and the events that shaped his story

Seeing the settlers who shaped Texas from a new point of view, gave me an appreciation of what they survived. Not your typical Western, the characters involve you in the tremendous day to day struggle of survival in a hostile location. The interpersonal relationships are both sad and compelling

Eye opening and charming

What a reminder of how inhumane this country was to their own citizens. The characters are vivid and well developed, the father-. son relationships are surprising and real. A good read
