My Reviews

A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb

An entertaining, highly discussable book for teen readers and adults.

I believe this book is named after a poem by Emily Dickinson. She may even be one of the first characters presented in the book. I really liked this book. It is a fascinating story that is full of imagination and hard to put down. The characters are well developed and lead very interesting lives. It is hard not to caught up into the story. As a reader you really want to know what is going to happen next. I am looking forward to reading the next book this author writes.

Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver, Camille Kingsolver, Steven L. Hopp

Informative, Inspiring, Persuasive
A book about growing your own food and eating locally to sustain the environment

I loved this book and would consider it life changing. I also can't wait to try all the recipes. My only regret is that I don't have space for a big garden and what I do plant I have to viciously protect from all the deer in my yard. So I will be spending my money at the farmer's market this year!!
