My Reviews
This was the kick-off book for our small book club. The memoir was riveting and each of our members saw the story from a different perspective. We only have four members, but, sure enough, we had four wonderfully considered perspectives.
This book was uncomfortable to read, and I'm sure it was intended to be so.
The fact that the world allowed this happen is only trumped by the fact the the world STILL allows it to happen. What are we thinking???
His recollection of the time in the camp was made so emotional by his deep commitment to his father and his father's well being.
For future readers of the book, notice from the beginning the constant comment of the author regarding eyes. I'm not sure it was intentional, but it was a theme throughout the memoir.
