A lost mountain climber changes a village and his life.

An inspiring book. He should be considered the the peace prize.

Love, Again by Doris Lessing

A depressed widow imagines having affairs with several different members that are cast in a play she is involved with.

I had to slog through the book-it did get a little more interesting at the last few pages. I almost said chapters but it didn't have chapters. I just could not get interested in the characters.

Atonement (MTI) by Ian Mcewan

Show what a 13 year old can start-accidently.

Perhaps if I hadn't seen the movie first I would have enjoyed the book more. It did flesh out some of the characters in the movie.

A well written mystery that is not the usual type you would expect.

We all liked the language that Martin Davies uses and his descriptions. An unusal style of writing to go from the past and back. A few of us had to recheck a few times to be sure we knew which character we were on. Since most of us are "birders" is was very appropiate.

Most in the club thought the book was wonderful. I did not.

I liked the book better as I got more into it but it was not my favorite book.

Ecology of a Cracker Childhood

Our group ratecd this on a scale of 1-10 about 51/2 or 6. We wondered just what she is doing for the environment in her area. Also what are her brothers and sisters doing now. She is a very descriptive writer.
