My Reviews
This book provoked a lot of discussion about various relationships including mother-daughter relationships, friendships, and sibling relationships. Love and loss were well-represented among the various characters in this book. Information about loggerhead turtles only enhanced the book reading. This is a truly beautiful book recommended by every member of our book reading club.
Our group thoroughly enjoyed this hilarious travelogue written by Doreen Orion. From the moment "Project Nerd" convinced the "princess" to live on that willful bus for a year until the return from the wilds of Alaska the book was a delightful blend of comedy and romance. The group enjoyed every moment of the tour.
Characters jumped in and, then, out of the book without definition. The love story of the main character was undeveloped. The resolution of it just popped out of the air. Two other love stories were more convincing. I was disappointed with the book because I usually like Maeve Binchy's writing.
