My Reviews
This book would not be one that I would usually read. I really cared for most of the characters and their life story. I liked how Gruen told his entire life story by going back to his younger years and then to the nursing home and then back to his younger years at the circus.
This story explains how difficult it is to comeback from a horrible accident. It made me appreciate my friends and family more than I did before. It was a miracle that he survived the accident.
The book was compelling. I could not put it down. The end disappointed me.
The book followed one woman and 1/2 way in added another family. I did not care about the second family as much as the 1st one. I was compelled to follow the women and then it jsut ended. I wish there was a chapter that which followed up 1 year later.
I enjoyed the book, however it was not the usual Picoult book. It made me think about capital punishment and religion.
I could not put the book down.
The book started following the characters when they were children and all the problems that they experienced. The book described the characters in Italy and then America and all the historical events that happened to them. It showed how chance meetings can change your life and never give up on love.
The characters were well developed. It made me think….what would I do??? It was hard for me to like some of the characters.
Wanted to read it before I saw the movie. Was surprised I enjoyed it because it is not the type of book that I usually read. It was a bit violent for me in many parts.
It was an easy read which of course made me cry. The characters were well developed.
The book was told by a 5 year old boy about the struggles of his life. It was an awful light but he was positive the entire time. I keep thinking about the characters after I have finished the book.
This book kept my interest and made me think how many other people are misdiagnosed. She is such a strong woman who went to hell and back.
This was my book club pick. I stopped reading this at chapter 16. They said it picked up in chapter 17. That is way too long for a book to gain my interest. I did not care about the characters and what happened to them. I read a lot, and this is only the 2nd book I did not finish.
This book reminded me of Eat, Pray, Love; which was not my favorite. A group of women took off a year and traveled to different countries.
This book right away kept my interest. It had many twists in it.
We picked this book for book club because we thought it would be fun to see the movie. None of us wanted to see the movie since none of us enjoyed the book. I did not like any of the characters and really did not care how the book ended.
It is a dark book with a lot of twists and turns
The book started off slow. It was about a grumpy old man who over time I really loved. The writing was good and I really think there was good character development.
