My Reviews
I don’t love non fiction but this was way to read and interesting
I didn’t think the book was particularly well written but the story was interesting
The first 75 pages are confusing but then the story comes together. It is worth hanging in there for it
Loved it! My favorite book this year!
At first this book does not seem to exciting but as the story and character unfolds you will be hooked. Loved this book and love this author
Enjoyable
The story should have been edited down as I was tired of it by the end but it is a good story
This book went on a little too long and didn't end up going anywhere, but I enjoyed the story
This is not a happy book, but when an author can do something that surprises me, I enjoy that, and this one was worth it.
This story goes on way too long. It starts and ends well but lags in the middle.
I am not a non fiction fan usually, but Erik Larson writes in a way that makes history seem like a story with characters. His writing is engaging and enjoyable.
A very sweet story in which you are able to watch the character grow and change throughout the story. There are some sad things but a lot of very sweet moments that help you root for the character. Eleanor 's unique perspective on the world will make you smile! Well written and very enjoyable
This book held my interest but it was a little uneven at times. Overall, I enjoyed it
I listened to this one on audio and Tom Hanks was the narrator. He did a great job and it may have helped me feel like I knew the characters, but the writing of the characters is strong and they are well developed, so that I wanted to get to know them.
I read some reviews that did not like this book, but I really enjoyed it. I like that you find out more about what happens after the last book and there is some resolution. The Handmaid's Tale is a more brilliant book but I found this one very satisfactory.
Very quick/easy read;
I really enjoy Frederik Backman's writing. I found some of his other books to be naturally very funny. I felt this one tries too hard to be funny, and therefore, is less so. However, what Backman does best is to help you grow to care about characters that you don't like initially, and he does not disappoint. There is a nice little surprise and I ended up liking it. It's not my favorite of his, but I liked it
Thought Provoking book; good story
A tough story but an important one. I thought it was very sad but very well done
I'm not sure what kind of discussion it will generate for book clubs, but it was a quick fun read
