Great discussion book!

Our book club found this book to be fascinating. We are varied group religiously speaking so it was very interesting to read this and get everyone's opinion. It is not a religious book per se. Worth reading!

Great book!

We absolutely loved this book. Really well written and so much to discuss. There are few books we all agree upon and this was one. Great discussion topics as well. Definitely a good pick!

Great discussion!

We read this book after it was already getting a lot of buzz. The book is open to so much interpretation that your discussion like ours will be very diverse. There are so many ways to read this book. Really well written! I think it is a must read for any book club that loves to really dig into a book.

A little depressing!

Our book club overall liked this book, but we had were all over the place on people who did and did not like the book. We read it some time ago, but I remember it being very depressing and personally not a favorite although some of our members did like it. No matter what our separate opinions on the book were, it still made for a good discussion.

A great read!

We loved this book! Story was great, discussion was great and it was very well written. Being an all women club also made it even more interesting to discuss. I think this is a classic book club pick.

Even better if you didn't see the movie!

We read this book before the movie was out and had a great discussion on this book. Very varied opinions on the characters and the ending in the book is left to interpretation of which we had many different ideas about. That really made the discussion even better. Very thought provoking book.

What a great book!

My book club loved this book. We all enjoyed reading it and our discussion brought a lot of interesting things to the table. Not what we expected and a really great book with great characters. I would strongly suggest this book for any book club.

Fascinating and frightening!

We recently read this book right before all this stuff in the media came out. I realize that this author had a bit of his own agenda, but there was so much information that was factual it definitely gives you a good base for discussion. None of our club really knew too much about Mormons or Fundamentalist Mormons so this was a very educational book in many ways. We found the Fundamentalists frightening from the book and even more frightening seeing what's currently coming out. Also several of us went on to read more books on this subject.

Be sure to read the notes in the back of the book!!

Our book club loved this book. Knowing the history behind it and keeping that in mind while reading makes it even better. Although the book itself is very good, what we really loved about it was the notes in the back that track what was happening during the writing of the book. If you miss that, you miss half the story. Truly one of our best discussions.

Absolutely great read!

Our club loved this book. It was so well written and the subject matter was fascinating. It brings you all over the world and beyond your imagination into the mind of this character as Calliope's story is unfolding. The only thing we wanted was more. Wanted to know what was going to happen next at the end. You can't help but have an interesting discussion with this book. A must read! One of my personal favorite books of all time.

Historical fiction as it's best!

This book was a great read and really brought you into the world of Henry VIII. We've all heard about his various wives, but this story was really great. Always interesting to read the info in the back later to see how much as true and how much was made up. The group enjoyed the book very much and we have a good discussion as well.

Great Discussion

We had one of our best discussions ever with this book. Really well written and totally amazing. Really opens your eyes to life as a woman outside the US.

Great first novel

Our book club enjoyed the book, but would have liked a bit more on the actual witch trials. However, she is wonderful as describing scenes. You can actually picture what is going on. Overall we liked it.

Great Discussion Book

This book was not too well written, but the story was excellent. The information in the book was very informative and really was great for a discussion. The author called into our book club and that made the discussion so much better to get his perspective and ask questions about things that were unclear.

Great read!

If you were a fan of "The Time Traveler's Wife", you will love this book. This author has such a great writing style and this story is so different than anything I've read before, I couldn't put it down.

Deep End of the Ocean Revisited

If you read "Deep End of the Ocean", you will love to find out what happens to this family years later. Not the deepest book out there, but I really enjoyed reading it. Took it on vacation and couldn't put it down. Finished it in two days! Sucks you right into the story.

Nice twist on Oedipus

This book was interesting and predictable, but darkly humorous. Even though you knew where it was going, you wanted to see it through.
