My Reviews
Even though it's classified as a "youth read" this book will engage adults as well. Characters are very developed and, even if you're not a fan of Vampire books, this is great. First book I had ever read about Vampires and I could hardly put it down, in fact, our whole Book Club agreed and we eagerly read books 2 and 3 for or next months meetings. You won't be disappointed.
The 3rd book in the series brings the three main characters we've seen all together. A definite must to read if you have read the other two. Probably the least compelling of the three, but still a very quick read. Will leave you waiting for the 4th and final book in the series with anticipation and a little sadness that this series is almost over. Very good book.
Tom Perrotta is kind of a slow writer, they are very interesting books but can be slow moving and can a lot of times leave unanswered questions. I really like his style but know that there are others that are not fans.
This book was definitely easy to fly through, however, it is one with very sad undertones. To read about how women in Afganistan are treated is continually surprising and depressing. Everyone in our club loved this book, a majority of them much preferred it to even the Kite Runner.
If you're a Sophie Kinsella fan, this book will not disappoint. Very easy read.
We have a five member book club and two of us loved the book and the other three thought it was "pretty good." Lionel Shriver definitely has a different style of writing than other authors that takes some getting used to. The book definitely evoked conversations between the group which is always a good thing. Overall, everyone enjoyed.
Everyone in our book club absolutely loved this book. The characters are all very endearing and you can't wait to see how it ends.
