My Reviews
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Dramatic, Insightful, Beautiful
interesting - both the story and also the writing. This is a great book with lots to discuss, it's a different point of view than most books that deal with the Holocaust and also uses language in really creative ways.
The Faraday Girls: A Novel (Ballantine Reader's Circle) by Monica McInerney
A page turner that could not be put down!
Lots of good topics for discussion.... family dynamics, secrecy, just to name two.
Personal Days: A Novel by Ed Park
Confusing, Pointless, Poorly Written
Only one person even made it to the endthis was a book we picked based on a daily candy email. It was just not engaging enough for me to be motivated to finish. And others said that they couldn't imagine what we'd have to discuss, it just wasn't a good book club choice.
