My Reviews
I found this book to be very interesting. This book gives a very good view into what it would be like to live in a communist country. In this story Ester is the one always trying to be the hero and in the end to me the true hero was Dora.
I highly recommend this book.
I thought the book was very good. Made me laugh and made me cry at times. I can relate to the strained relationship between the mothers and daughters. Highly recommend.
Spoiler Alert.
over all this was a very good book. Even though it was very predictable. When in the first 10 pages I had a very good idea of how it ends.
I had a very good feeling Grace would come out on the other side and would ultimately kill Jack, because if i was in her position i would do the same thing. I did not like how they got married after know each other after only two months. found that to be very desperate, and very unwise. She went from being a very strong independent women, to a weak woman almost over night.
Even though I found it to be a predictable book, it did keep my interest, and i had to know if I was correct in my assumption of the ending.
The audible was hard to follow at time and so was the story. There was a lot of stories to keep up with and it was a sad and sort of a depressing story.
I have wanted to read this book for awhile but the was intimidated due to the how long it was. So i finally decide to just listen to it, and what a good choice that was.
Davina porter does an amazing job of narrating this novel, with voice changes that help you recognize each character.
Outlanders story is also amazing it didn't take long for it to have me looked in.
Now i just hope the TV show is as good as the book.
