Insightful and suspenseful. This book evoked a such wide range of emotions in almost a seamless, "sneak up on you" way! So many subtleties and nuances in the story line and characters. The characters were often funny, in the way of someone who is not meaning to be but is, especially in the beginning. As the characters develop, you begin to realize the depth, complexity and interconnections of relationships, and the tone changes so that some of the characteristics and behaviors of the personalities that made me chuckle in the beginning instead often made me feel more uneasy later in the book. It all comes full circle in a satisfying way that still leaves you thinking about it a bit for a while afterwards.
