We have 9 women and 2 men in our club....we all agreed we loved this book.

I must say I am somewhat shocked by all the 5 star reviews...I guess I shouldn\\\'t be since it is a Pulitzer Prize winner. I was undaunted by the size and I kept reading hoping to find some redeeming qualities in the main characters...never happened. Way too many drugs, alcohol and throwing up. I was so hoping to love this book but like my ex-husband, glad that I\\\'m done with it. Would not recommended him or this book to anyone.

As a retired librarian, I have obviously read a few books...I loved this book...I laughed, I cried but most of all I loved all of the characters in this novel. What a great book for a book club discussion.

Comparing two different eras in this country and showing the conflicts caused by religion. This was a very thought provoking novel. Barbara Kingsolver truly brings her characters to life....cannot wait to share this with my friends.
