My Reviews
I enjoyed the relationship between Astrid and Veronika. The back story and how the author weaved the seasons and the passing of time and grief together was moving, and sometimes uncomfortable.
There were so many stories and back and forth themes in the book that is was not enjoyable to read or to discuss. We had two members that chose not to finish the book.
The dialect was not reader friendly either. Many in the group had like other Toni Morrison titles, but not this one.
This was a fabulous book. It was well received and great for converstation. Some of us are even interested in traveling to Chicago to do the Devil in the White City tour. I have bought the book and given it to some of my friends and family to read.
