My Reviews
My book club is a group of stay at home moms and yet none of us could relate to these characters. I don't see how it was a "Ten Year Nap" exactly and I certainly can't see what all these women awakened to after this 10 year period.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone. It's amazing what Greg Mortenson has accomplished. Reading about his work and the people he has met along the way is eye-opening and inspiring.
As long as the book is it never got boring but sometimes I skimmed over some of the details of cathedral building.
This was an interesting story that moved quickly but should definitely be read with The Glass Castle.
Makes you think - some parts are believable, some parts you'll question. Choices of main character brought up emotional responses at our meeting.
Considered a classic, the main character has the ability (or curse) of being able to read minds. It's a thought provoking book but the main character who is suffering a midlife crisis as he begins to lose his ability is utterly unlikable and inspires no sympathy. Hard to get through.
