This is a tale told in somewhat autobiographical fashion in that some chapters seem to be written by Daisy herself and others, impressions of Daisy's life. In this way, the author has been able to really dig into Daisy's life, her personality, her courage, her struggles, even though she seems unremarkable as the heroine of a novel. I guess that's what makes it so readable. I loved it and I think it provides a great forum for discussion for a book club.
