My Reviews
I really liked this book. I like the way that he wrote it using Death as the narrator. The characters were great whether you like them or not, you felt like you knew them. At first I was dreading reading another 'war book', but it was very different from any that I have read before.
I just could not get into the story. None of the characters were likable. Too many details about unimportant things...maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a classic....
Soe parts of this book were good, other parts were pretty boring...
This book will give your group a lot to discuss, but it is not for the weak stomachs. Has some graphic descriptions of what happens when everyone in an area are blind -the filth, the crime....
Some of us liked it, some of us didn't. But we did all finish the book, which is saying something for it compared to some of the others that we have read or not finished reading...
I didn't finish the book, so I can't say much. I just didn't get into the story or the characters. From what the rest of the people in my club had to say, who did finish the book, it just wasn't that good but not that bad...
We didn't read this book for book club, but I loved it. I had bought it for my son, and ended up reading it myself. The writing is so good that you can picture this world and these characters vividly. I almost felt like I was there in the story. To me, that is a great writer! Maybe I will suggest that we read this as a group. It would be interesting to see if my friends love it as much as I did...
I loved this book! Most of our group liked it. We had a good discussion about this one!
It wasn't a bad book. We have definitely read worse! It was just a little confusing and hard to keep track of the characters at times.
This was a good, easy read. It had plenty of things to discuss at the meeting.
Great story. Great characters. Loved it! Would actually reread, and I never do that.
This was an ok story, but not as wonderful as everyone made it out to be. Not many likable characters. But does provide a decent discussion.
