My Reviews
Life is complex and yet so simple. Humour, compassion, insight, and wisdom are all qualities everyone should aspire to attain.
This book sheds light on all aspects of human existence; it is a book filled with many topics that could be discussed. Religion, philosophy, love, hate, birth, and death are inticately interwoven into a masterful piece of storytelling.
A must read that will warm the heart and may even move one to tears--as it did to me.
Some genuine comic moments are an added treat to the book. However, most people enroll in a clinical trial for other reasons than to raise added cash income. They enroll in clinical trials because they come from poor financial situations and/or they have tried so many other drugs that have failed so this is a court of last resort.
This book could have the potential to spur readers on to find out how clinical trials really work and the pitfalls/shortfalls associated with participation in these studies.
I enjoyed the quotations presented in the sidebars. And that's about all.
Too many personal stories that were incredibly boring made a tough read for me.The author "became too personal" with the reader. Was this a memoir or a true confessions book? Rambling on and on with lists of boring to do lists. And she's supposed to be a professional person? I pity her poor clients.
The writing style was simplistic and reductionistic.I didn't care for the folksy "down on the farm" blather.
Don't waste valuable time reading this book. There are too many books of good quality out there just waiting for the intelligent reader to enjoy.
