My Reviews
I found the characters interesting and eccentric. The writing was very descriptive and made me want to visit Savannah.
Well written and thought provoking novel about the unintended consequences of scientific discoveries and the motivations of human beings.
It was a quick read. I found the story entertaining and suspenseful. A good beach book.
Very dark story about medieval Europe and the Black Death and the forces of good and evil. The supernatural parts were very scary and at times confusing.
I liked the supernatural elements and the question it posed about who and what are really evil.
One of my favorites we’ve read in book club. I love how the author connects the stories of people across time and space. I liked the hopeful aspect of it.
A sometimes confusing story about the dark side of power. Enjoyed the revelation that the three women in the story were the same person at different times in her life.
I had mixed feelings about the book. I enjoyed learning about the mysterious society and reading about the different powers of the characters but none of them were very likable. I sometimes had difficulty picturing the action that was taking place. I’m curious about how it all ends but not sure I want to read the other books in the series.
A quick read. I liked the bond between the father and daughter and found their lifestyle fascinating. I also liked that redemption aspect of it.
