My Reviews
A Fever in the Heartland: The Ku Klux Klan's Plot to Take Over America, and the Woman Who Stopped Them by Timothy Egan
Book Club Recommended
Informative, Dramatic, Scary
Why didn't I know more about this history?I studied American history in school and have read numerous books about American history, but I never knew about the resurrection of the KKK during the 30's. This powerful book opened my eyes to the horrors of the KKK, how it played on the immigration fears of Americans who's families had lived in the US for generations, the impact a charismatic charlatan can have on a gullible population that feels unheard and how a marginalized population can be abused.
