My Reviews
The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
Difficult, Fantastic, Brilliant
I have loved this book every time I have read it. Challenging on so many levels: characters, obscure meanings, political satire, and switching timelines. At least 3 stories in one.
The Leopard by Giuseppe T. Di Lampedusa
Beautiful, Epic, Interesting
The Leopard is the story of the end of the Italian aristocracy, the abuses of the Catholic Church at the end of the 19th or early 20th century, and the love within a family.
Bright Young Women by Knoll Jessica
Difficult, Scary, Interesting
The violence against women distressed me so much that I couldn’t enjoy the book. The doomed love story of a woman with potential finally chasing her dreams was sad. The close parallel to an historic serial murder confused me.
The Many Lives of Mama Love: A Memoir of Lying, Stealing, Writing, and Healing by Love Lara Hardin
Fantastic, Insightful, Inspiring
