My Reviews
I really liked this book. It was a story about ghosts, unrequited loves, and taking on political movements that were not popular at the time. A very good first novel.
This was a small book but it packed a big wallop. Reading about the Oriental cultural in the 30's was very enlightening and characters were wonderful.
While I didn't agree with how she left her children, it still was a really thought provoking read.
Book was okay but I wanted to slap Adie up the side of the head for not kicking out Buck. I know it was taking place in the 60s and 70s but the characters seemed so rural and unschooled and the women so downtrodden that one would think it was in the early 1900s before women had the vote.
This was a beautifuly wriiten book that I could not put down. Wonderful.
Very long and not very good the last third of the book.
I loved it. It told about the internment of the Japanese during WWII and it is something that is not talked about much in history books. Plus the character were so well developed. It definitely is a bitter but sweet book.
I really liked it. I usually don't like short stories but by putting Olive in all the stories it was really well done. In fact, the stories that Olive wasn't the focus were not as good as when she was the main character. all in all, I thought it was a good read.
It was pretty good, especially going back in time parts.
