I couldn't put it down and didn't want to finish it because I loved every word!!!Must read!
Teenagers would love this book not so much for a bookclub
We had mix reviews from a 3 to 5-7 rating. Mainly the high rating is our club enjoyed Moranna and her spirit. The story line was not great and left out huge chuncks and did not always flow. There was not much to discuss and we all wished the author would of told us more about her daughters in the end.
This was our highest book rated for book club. Almost everyone rated it a 9 to 9.5. Great foreshadowing. Loved the references throughout the book. All loose ends tied together great at the end of the book. Would not have picked up if it was not for bookclub. Great book!
I loved the book and I would of never picked it up unless someone else reccomeneded it. Hard topic to read about but was very insightful to generational africian american abuse. A lot to talk about.
