My Reviews
This book was too predictable, boring and unrealistic. If you want a fantasy book then maybe ok, otherwise,no substance.
Torn on this one, loved the Little bee narratives, learned to appreciate Sarah in some ways....wanted more at the end. I really have become a fan of the authors writing style in this book.
the story of the little girl was sad but well done and kept my attention. The modern section was ok but got boring. The ending was tied up but in a choppy way. It was a fast read, one day for me.
I was surprised how the beginning was some what dragging and then BAM, it all took a dramatic turn. At first I had a hard time with the ending but then taking into account of Anna's confusion with her religion it all made sense to me.
Of all the books I have read the last month this is by far my favorite. Not one for being overly sensitive I found myself misty eyed at the end
We loved this book. We had one of our longest and most interesting discussions yet. A great story.
Loved it! I was drawn in by each character, whether they were likeable or not.
I think we will have interesting dicussions as we analyze the characters and the choices they made. All we who did not live in that era have to see of it is the TV reruns, not an idyllic era and this book supports and destroys that idea.
Loved it, not one for mysteries, not patient enough, but this one was great, enough twists but not contrived.
